The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is appealing to residents to strengthen home security measures following a series of recent break-ins and thefts.
While officials say the incidents are not yet widespread, they admit the reports have raised serious concern within the Police Administration. In response, additional security measures have already been put in place to tackle the problem.
Authorities are encouraging homeowners and tenants to remain vigilant and adopt precautionary practices to safeguard their properties. Among the recommendations are:
• Lock all doors and windows securely at all times.
• Install reliable security systems for added protection and peace of mind.
• Keep valuable items out of sight and avoid leaving them unattended outdoors.
• Report suspicious individuals or vehicles loitering in communities to the nearest police station or by calling 911.
The Police Administration is also calling on the public to support their crime prevention efforts. In a statement, officials reassured residents that the safety and comfort of communities remain a top priority.
