Flash Flood Advisory Issued for Antigua
The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service has issued a flash flood advisory for Antigua, warning residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas to remain vigilant.
The advisory, issued at 9:35 a.m. and valid until midday, comes as heavy showers from a tropical wave sweep across the Eastern Caribbean. Forecasters say up to one inch of rain has already fallen, with a further inch possible before the system moves on.
Minor flooding is expected in streets, drains, and other low-lying areas. Authorities are urging the public to avoid flooded zones and to move to higher ground if necessary. Motorists are reminded that just a foot of water can sweep a vehicle off the road.
