The Big Stories Attempted break-in at Gray’s Farm church foiled by alarm system

Police are investigating an attempted break-in at the Grays Farm Adventist Church on Lovelace Road that occurred sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon last week.

The incident was reported to the Gray’s Farm Police Station by a concerned church member who discovered signs of forced entry when he and two other members arrived at the building on Wednesday afternoon around 5:15 to do routine cleaning work.

According to reports, the church had been properly secured following a regular service on Tuesday night around 8:45.

When the church members returned the following day, they made the discovery. Wooden boards that had been nailed to secure an eastern room door were found on the ground.

Reports indicate that the perpetrator’s intentions were cut short when the building’s alarm system was triggered before entry was gained into the building.

Police confirm that nothing was reported stolen from the premises during the incident and an investigation has been launched.
