The name of the motorcyclist who died following a tragic single-vehicle accident in the early hours of Saturday, July 19 has been revealed as Glen Morris, 45, a resident of Jennings.
Morris died after allegedly being thrown from his motorcycle during a high-speed crash that has brought the year’s road fatalities to five.
According to police investigations, the motorcycle was traveling in a southerly direction when Morris lost control. Emergency responders arrived on the scene around 4:30am and discovered Morris lying face down and unresponsive in a pool of blood. He had sustained serious injuries from the impact with the utility pole.
Despite the swift response of emergency personnel, Morris succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a district doctor at 6:08am.
The incident marks the fifth road fatality recorded for 2025, raising ongoing concerns about road safety and the dangers of excessive speed.
Authorities have not indicated whether additional factors contributed to the accident. Their investigation remains active as they work to determine all circumstances surrounding the crash.
