Police have arrested a man following an alleged theft incident at a popular supermarket on Sunday afternoon.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 2:00pm on June 2nd, when a supervisor at the establishment contacted the Criminal Investigation Department to report that a customer had allegedly taken a bottle of premium cognac valued at $219.95 and left the store without paying.
The theft was reportedly discovered when the supervisor reviewed closed-circuit television footage from the time of the incident. The footage allegedly showed the suspect leaving the supermarket with the unpaid merchandise.
Following the report, police officers responded to the scene and conducted interviews with the reporting party. The suspect was subsequently located and taken into custody on suspicion of larceny.
The investigation is ongoing, with police continuing inquiries into the matter.
