Law enforcers search for men involved in two separate armed robberies

Police are appealing to the public for information in relation to two separate incidents of robbery that occurred on Wednesday, July 16.

In one incident, the proprietor of a local cook shop on Fort Road reported that at approximately 6:30pm, two armed men — who were reportedly wearing black hoodies and white masks — entered the business and demanded money at gunpoint. They then proceeded to rob an employee of a phone.

In a separate incident, the owner of a supermarket at Sutherlands reported that around 10 pm, two men, wearing masks and armed with what appeared to be firearms, entered the business place and stole a cash register containing an undisclosed sum of money.

They were reportedly dressed in grey hoodies, white masks, and red and grey pants.

The police are appealing to anyone with information on either incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477). All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality, the police assure.

The police continue to appeal to business owners and operators to remain vigilant, particularly during closing hours. Residents are further advised to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to the police without delay.
