A small food establishment in Cedar Grove was destroyed by fire last Thursday evening, however no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The blaze occurred around 7:45pm at an 8-by-8-foot wooden and galvanized structure operated as a cook shop.
Emergency responders from the St. John’s Fire Station quickly arrived on the scene and found the building fully engulfed in flames. However, firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, but the structure was completely destroyed.
The fire destroyed all equipment inside the shop, including a barbecue grill, deep fryer, two coolers, and three propane gas cylinders. The owner confirmed that the building had no electrical connections and was not covered by insurance.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the fire is encouraged to contact local authorities.
