Two teenagers injured in Armstrong Road shooting incident

Police have launched an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 11:45pm on Number One Armstrong Road on Thursday, leaving two teenagers with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims, a 17-year-old resident of Armstrong Road and a 19-year-old from Golden Grove, were reportedly walking along the street when they heard what they described as loud explosions. According to police reports, the pair spotted a man wearing a black hoodie and immediately began running from the scene.

It was only after fleeing that both teenagers realized they had sustained gunshot wounds during the incident.

Both victims were transported to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment. The older teen suffered injuries to his ankle and hand, while the other sustained a wound to his back. Medical staff confirmed that neither injury was critical.

The shooting has prompted an investigation by law enforcement, who are now seeking the public’s assistance to identify and apprehend the suspect.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have any relevant information to come forward immediately.

While the investigation remains ongoing, police are yet to indicate if they are aware of any possible motive which prompted the attack.
