The British Virgin Islands received the title of “Hottest Destination of 2025,” with persons particularly impressed by its “ultra luxurious developments,” including the highly anticipated reopening of Peter Island Resort and the exclusive private island retreats owned by Sir Richard Branson — Necker and Moskito islands.
Modern Luxury praised the BVI as offering “elevated exclusivity with stunning beachfront villas, world-class spas and a yachter’s paradise in the Caribbean’s most coveted waters.”
Oil Nut Bay’s Quintessa Villa in the British Virgin Islands earned recognition as “Best Private Villa, Caribbean.” The five-bedroom luxury accommodation, perched on the cliffs of Virgin Gorda’s exclusive North Sound, was praised for blending “seamless indoor-outdoor living with ocean views” and offering a private honeymoon suite with premium amenities. The magazine also noted the property’s new Sundara Spa, the first overwater spa in the BVI, and its reimagined beach club.
“We are honored that the British Virgin Islands has been named in Modern Luxury’s Best of Luxury Travel Awards as the Hottest Destination of 2025,” said Clive McCoy, Director of Tourism for the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission. “This recognition reflects the timeless allure of our islands, our world-class hospitality, and the incredible people who bring the spirit of the BVI to life for every visitor. From luxury villas like Quintessa Villa at Oil Nut Bay to the pristine waters that have made us a global sailing capital, the BVI continues to set the standard for extraordinary travel experiences.”
