Ministry of Health & The Environment, Antigua and Barbuda: Director of Pharmaceutical Services within the Ministry of Health, Mr. Alfred Athill, is currently representing Antigua and Barbuda at the Strengthening National and Supranational Regulatory Systems in the Caribbean Meeting, taking place in Miami from March 12-13, 2025.
The event, hosted by the Caribbean Regulatory System (CRS) in collaboration with the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), brings together representatives from member states to discuss strategies for enhancing regulatory frameworks across the region.
This high-level meeting focuses on strengthening national regulatory systems, enhancing regional partnerships, and advancing access to health technologies.
Key discussions include increasing regulatory maturity to support local production capacities for essential health technologies, advancing national regulatory systems through supranational collaborations and regional partnerships and sharing best practices and lessons learned from global and regional models to inspire effective regulatory mechanisms in the Caribbean.
Mr. Athill’s participation underscores Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to improving pharmaceutical regulations, ensuring the availability of high-quality health technologies, and fostering collaboration for a more robust regional healthcare system.
