BBC: Tito Jackson, a founding member of the iconic Jackson 5 and brother of the late Michael Jackson, has passed away at the age of 70, according to US media. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
Jackson, who was in Munich for a performance with his brothers, was remembered by his three sons—Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson—who expressed their heartbreak on Instagram. They honored their father’s legacy and his enduring message to “Love One Another.”
The Jackson 5, known for hits like “ABC,” “The Love You Save,” and “I Want You Back,” achieved global success, selling over 150 million records and earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1980. Tito was the group’s guitarist and backing vocalist.
In recent days, Tito had posted a tribute to his late brother Michael at a Munich memorial, reflecting on their shared legacy.
Tributes have poured in from across the music world, including former Jackson 5 drummer Jonathan Moffett, who expressed his deep sadness and love for Tito.
Tito Jackson, who also enjoyed a solo career in blues, was the last of the Jackson siblings to chart with a solo single, his 2016 hit “Get It Baby.” He is remembered for his contributions to music both as part of the legendary group and as a solo artist.
