Forecaster Dale Destin has warned of a notable rise in lightning activity, with 42 strikes recorded over or near Antigua within just 45 minutes.
While most of these are cloud-to-cloud strikes, he cautioned that 20-30% are dangerous cloud-to-ground strikes.
Destin advises residents to remain indoors until 30 minutes after the last thunder and recommends using real-time lightning updates to stay informed, as storms can develop quickly.
