Business magnate and investor Elon Musk has finalized his purchase of Twitter this week, and has gone in with a bang.
Marking his grand entrance, Musk fired some of the top executives from the social media company, including chief executive Parag Agrawal chief financial officer, as well as top legal and policy executive and the company’s general counsel
A few hours after announcing the dismissals, Musk tweeted, “the bird is freed,” a reference to Twitter’s logo.
He also cleared up the speculation surrounding the purchase of the platform saying that the accusations were “wrong” and that he was buying Twitter to “help humanity.”
Many users have raised concerns over the richest man in the world acquiring the social media platform. Additionally, EU official overseeing internet regulation cautioned Musk that the social media giant must play by the bloc’s rules in Europe.
