No Merging of the UPP and DNA Parties

There has been no proposal from the United Progressive Party for the “coming together” of both opposition parties to contest the next general election according to Political Leader of the Democratic National Alliance, Joanne Massiah.

Her statement is in response to a news item on the proposals.

Massiah stated that there has been no correspondence from the UPP requesting any meeting with the DNA.

This suggestion has been brought up several times in the past including last week, by one regional pollster who does not believe that the United Progressive Party can win the next general election on its own.

The UPP has already launched its slate of candidates, with the DNA promising to do the same with no set date.
