Halo Christmas Art Competition announces its 7th annual winner

Fifteen-year-old Meghan Smith of the Antigua Girls High School has been awarded the top prize in the 7th annual Halo Christmas Art Competition.

She was presented with her award at Government House on December 22.

Governor-General, Sir Rodney Williams who delivered brief remarks noted that there was an almost 10% increase in entries this year when compared with the previous year.

The 3-month Royal Drawing School certification course organised by Halo in conjunction with the Ministry of Education resulted in the training of 23 teachers across the island in alternative techniques.

We are hoping that this will eventually be reflected in both the quality and quantity of art pieces produced by the pupils in our schools the Governor-General stated.
