CARIOM wants further collaboration with CDB

A new approach is being looked at to build economic opportunities for CARICOM nationals, this according to Secretary General of the Caribbean Community Dr. Carla Barnett

During a visit to the Barbados-based CDB for the first time since her appointment to the position as Secretary general, Barnett met with CDB president, Dr Gene Leon, vice-president Yvette Lemonias-Seale, and their advisors

High on the agenda was further opportunities for collaboratedefforts between the two entities and ways to further their common goals of building economic opportunity and prosperity for the people of the Caribbean through deeper regional cooperation.

According to CDB president, Dr Gene Leon “CDB and CARICOM are certainly partners in progressing the Caribbean. “We share mutual goals of advancing the region through economic and social integration.

The region according to the Secretary General, are challenged in more ways than one, however with the collaborative efforts more unique and promising synergies were discuss to further tackle the regions challenges.

Dr Barnett, is looking forward to continued and strengthenedpartnership between both institutions.”
