Normalcy will be restored for 4th and 5th form students

The Cabinet allowed the return of 4th and 5th Form students to their schools after a thorough consideration of the repercussions.

Students have expressed several concerns, including a lack of resources for online programs, which the Cabinet has committed to resolving.

Another question posed was surrounding students’ safety and protection against the COVID-19 virus.

With the confidence that students would be safe, it was stated that 85 per cent of public school teachers had been vaccinated, and several private schools had attained 100% immunization.

The Government was overwhelmed by the need for 109 replacement teachers to fill the void left by the absence of those instructors who had not received shots, therefore the Cabinet appointed the substitutes on a three-month contract.

The Ministry of Education’s management team would assign the requisite number of teachers with the necessary skills to return to some semblance of normalcy.
