Over 500 Constituents endorse call for a New Candidate for St. Peter

Residents of St Peter constituency have already endorsed a new candidate to represent them in the next General Elections, and according to the Leader of the Antigua Labour Party, Prime Minister Gaston Browne, that person has already received over 500 red ticks.

The current Member of Parliament for that constituency, Asot Micheal has been put on early notice that he will not be running on the Labour Party’s ticket in the next elections, after a major fallout with PM Browne.

A new candidate is emerging, who will fix the issue of poor representation in St. Peter, the Prime Minister said, responding to a caller to his radio program.

“You know there is an issue at this time in which perhaps you are not getting the type of representation that you deserve, I accept. That is a matter that is being actively pursued, give us a little time to fix the issue of the representation,” PM Browne said.

“I am quite sure that you will be delighted with the benefits and improvements that will follow as a result of that change. I happen to know too that there is a particular individual who has been endorsed by over 500 constituents as a prospective candidate.”

”We are very impressed that the person has started to show some initiative and to provide some leadership as to the constituency,” Browne ended by saying.

Tevaughn Peter Redz Hariette has already been endorsed as the candidate for the main opposition United Progressive Party in that constituency.
