The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) is digitalizing its data collection base.
Director of NODS, Philmore Mullin says the move will speed up the accumulation of information following a disaster.
“This is part of another review that took place. For many years we have been using paper to collect the data.”
“We are moving away this year from that. Going forward we want to do that electronically.”
“When we collect data in the field it is uploaded and almost be tallied seamlessly. We can then immediately look at the data and identify that a specific area has the greatest need, therefore it speeds up the process,” Mullin added.
