Sir Lester’s update on lower leg amputation

Former Prime Minister and National Hero Sir Lester Bryant Bird is said to be recovering from a lower leg amputation surgery on April 20.

According to his family, Sir Lester has been hospitalized at Medical Surgical Associates Centre for almost three weeks prior to his surgery and remains under observation.

Several persons have been extending good wishes and speedy recovery to Sir Lester who served as the second Prime Minister of the twin-island state from 1994 to 2004.

The family members told the press that his surgery was recommended by his doctor after he had been hospitalized earlier this month with a toe infection.
