While celebrating the Easter holidays, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Keith Rowley tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. According to information provided by the office of Prime Minister he was immediately taken into isolation.

Notably, PM was due to take the COVID-19 vaccine the same day he tested positive for coronavirus. He is currently under medical supervision at Tobago.

The People’s National Movement’s National Youth League joined with the national community in wishing Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, a swift and full recovery.

The statement issued by PNM read, “Dr Rowley has fervently led the charge in this nation’s fight against the global pandemic, winning the respect of nations and admiration of other leaders across the globe. Now, we pray for his proven strength as he navigates this course.”

They encouraged the population, and particularly the young people, to do their part in adhering to the Public Health Ordinance and all COVID-19 regulations, taking the requisite precautions to negate viral spread.

“On behalf of the Party’s youth membership and all PNM Constituency Youth Leagues across Trinidad and Tobago, we pray that the Honourable Prime Minister will quickly recover with the greatest health and strength to continue our crossing of these inundating waters, elbows to elbows, in one accord as Trinidad and Tobago,” the statement read.
