Tourism Authority sends home employees due to Covid-19 concerns

Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority today sent home a number of its employees as a precaution, informing them that a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19. This is the second Government institution to make this decision in less than 24hours.

Earlier today the Manager of ABS Television and Radio, also sent home a number employees as a precaution for similar concern. Trumpet news understands that the individual in question work at both Government institutions. While contact tracing is presently ongoing it is believed that concerns are mounting as to whether the children of the individual contracted the virus and, if so, would it affect the school they attend?

Employees from both Ministries have expressed concern about being sent home to self isolate with their family without testing, putting their family members at risk, rather than, placing them into a quarantine facility to avoid further community spread. Further updates to follow as Trumpet News continue to investigate this breaking story
