On Tuesday, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Barbuda Affairs commenced work at Country Pond, after a request from SDA school.
It is said that the school reached out seeking assistance with the clearing and cleaning of a pond which is the main source of irrigation for the school’s farm.
Yesterday, the work commenced by the MAFBF and the National Solid Waste Management Authority with the clearing of trees which were then transported to the Country Pond and was used to build a ramp for access to the machinery involved in cleaning the pond.
“The ramp will give access further into the pond for the removal of the invasive Cattail grass”, Christian said.
It is anticipated that upon the completion of Country Pond the SDA pond would be next.
