Prime Minister Browne Issues Statement on The Murder of Neltha Telemaque

The gruesome murder of a 25-year-old woman which left the nation in utter despair caught the attention of Prime Minister Gaston Browne who condemned the act and expressed his condolences to the victims family.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda, I express the heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Neltah Telemaque, who was brutally murdered sometime on the weekend ”, he said in a written statement.

On Sunday at about 7:15 AM, the wounded, lifeless body of Neltha Telemaque was discovered by a livestock farmer in the vicinity of Burma Dump. The young lady had been reported missing by her fiancé just mere hours before news of her demise was announced.

Neltha’s family were visibly distraught at the scene of the crime, consoling each other while still in disbelief.

As intense investigations continue, one person of interest has surrendered to the police after being issued a wanted bulletin on Sunday.

It is unclear at this time whether that individual is still in police custody.

Meanwhile, other statements condemning the vicious act have also been issued by Minister Dean Jonas and the Women Against Rape organization.
