Fake vaccination cards sold for $1700 each

After identifying at least 40 fake vaccinations cards, the Health Ministry launches an investigation into the matter.

During a special discussion program on Monday evening, Health Minister Hon. Sir Molwyn Joseph revealed this information.

“Thanks to the Health Ministry’s register,” he says, “detectives will be able to quickly identify the phoney vaccination cards.”

“The fraud has been connected to one individual,” the Minister says, adding that “necessary action will be taken and the case will be turned over to the police after the Health Ministry’s investigation.”

An inquiry into the selling of counterfeit vaccination cards is alleged to be centred on a nurse.

This suspect that works at Sir Lester Bird Medical Center, was also a volunteer at numerous immunization locations.

The crime was discovered around a week ago, according to a reliable source who wishes to remain anonymous.

“The cards were being sold for $1700 a piece by the lady,” the source revealed.  When additional information becomes available, the Antiguan Trumpet will inform you.
