Mehul Choksi may have taken his girlfriend to Dominica to dinner and have a good time when he got caught by law enforcement on The Nature Isle, according to Prime Minister Gaston Browne who said the allegation was based on “information” he claimed to have received.
This, after media in Choksi’s native India were broadcasting news about the fugitive’s association with an unknown and previously unheard of woman whose name was given as “Barbara Jose”.
The video on TIMESNOWNEWS.COM said the mysterious “Jose” was the last person seen with Mehul Choksi, and that she was in her late 20s to early 30s.
It was not clear whether this “Barbara Jose” who the report claimed “was found with Mehul Choksi” meant that she was the person reportedly seen dining with him at a restaurant in “Jolly Point” as the Indian TV report referenced, or whether she was also with him in Dominica as the girlfriend referred to by PM Gaston Browne
“This woman has been in contact with Mehul Choksi over the last one year,” TIMENOWNEWS.COM said it had learned, adding that investigating agencies were “analyzing the mystery woman’s role in Choksi’s financial affairs.”
It further, somewhat vaguely, stated that the mysterious “Barbara Jose” was “a European national”.
Beyond his “girlfriend” remarks concerning Choksi’s arrival in Dominica, Prime Minister Browne did not delve into the sensation claims and details of the Indian news portal. But, since then, some more and potentially bombshell suggestions have begun to make the rounds, purporting to show that a vessel from a Saint Lucian boat charter company departed Antigua for Dominica around the same time Choksi vanished.
The documents, with accompanying photos, show that the 47-foot-long catamaran Lady Anne operated by Hackshaw Boat Charters carried two Saint Lucian crew members and two passengers with Indian looking/sounding names but with addresses in Birmingham, England.
