Cabinet to deliberate on New Curfew Hours today

Prime Minister Gaston Browne will today convene an emergency meeting of the cabinet to discuss implementing longer curfew hours

Prime Minister Browne placed the Country on notice on his Browne and Browne show on Pointe-FM on Saturday in direct response to residents disregarding the Covid -19 protocols established.

Browne commented, “ We hoped to see a reduction in the number of active Covid Cases as a result of measures we would have taken in the last two weeks but unfortunately the active Covid Cases continue to increase rapidly, literally exceeding the recoveries.”

Browne went on to say “ the increase  in Covid-19 cases is obviously due to the negligence and complacency of our people, the steep rise means that we have to increase vigilance and vaccinate our people rapidly”

This may call for new measures Browne asserted including expanding the curfew hours and reducing the number of individual who can gather in public.

Browne also warned bus drivers to make sure they do not violate the protocols which now calls for them to carry reduced numbers.

Trumpet News understands the new curfew times been considered are as early as 5 or 6 pm and will allow for persons to depart from work and avoid social gatherings and unnecessary loitering.
