Those Barbudans who are still living in tents, three years after Hurricane Irma, are counting their blessings: The tropical disturbance that ravaged Antigua with rain and flooding did not have that great an impact on the sister-island.
Secretary of the Barbuda Council Paul Nedd says it has been raining lightly on Barbuda, and those who reside in tents are managing to withstand the weather. Β
However, those who have relatives with houses are able to seek refuge with them.
Nedd says the Council is still working along with a number of international donor agencies in an effort to end the βtent livingβ and get people back into their homes before next yearβs Hurricane Season.
