Grenada Reports Strong Tourism Performance as Visitor Arrivals and Spending Increase

Grenada is reporting continued growth in its tourism industry, with visitor arrivals, tourism spending and international recognition contributing to a positive outlook for the country’s travel sector.

According to figures highlighted by the Grenada Tourism Authority during Tourism Awareness Month, stayover arrivals reached 140,602 between January and August 2026, representing a 9.9 per cent increase compared with the corresponding period in 2025.

Visitor expenditure also remains a significant contributor to the country’s economy. Tourism spending reached EC$1.047 billion in 2025, with projections indicating that expenditure could increase to EC$1.068 billion in 2026.

Grenada’s cruise tourism sector has also recorded encouraging results. The 2025 cruise season attracted nearly 370,000 passengers, representing a 17.5 per cent increase over the previous year.

The country has also received international recognition for its tourism offerings, including awards and destination features highlighting its culture, hospitality and natural attractions.

Tourism officials have emphasised the importance of ensuring that the industry’s growth benefits communities, entrepreneurs, farmers, fisherfolk and other local businesses.

Among the upcoming attractions is the inaugural Grenada Flower and Garden Festival, scheduled for November 8–15, which is expected to showcase the country’s botanical heritage and create additional opportunities for local participants.

The latest figures underline tourism’s continuing importance to Grenada’s economy as the country works to strengthen its international profile and expand opportunities across its tourism sector.
