Investigators in Trinidad and Tobago are continuing their investigation into the fatal shooting of two women at a beauty spa in Couva, as police work to determine the motive behind the attack.
The victims have been identified as 55-year-old spa owner Kavita Deosaran and 67-year-old customer Cheryl Dixon.
The women were killed on Wednesday morning at SOHO Beauty Haven, located at Veneris Plaza in Couva.
According to reports, a masked gunman entered the establishment and approached Dixon before opening fire. Deosaran reportedly attempted to escape but was also shot.
Investigators have not yet determined whether the gunman intended to target one of the women or deliberately attacked both victims.
Police also reported that no one had been detained or questioned in connection with the killings at the time of the report.
CCTV footage reportedly showed the gunman leaving the building and getting onto a motorcycle operated by another individual.
The Couva Point Lisas Chamber of Commerce has condemned the killings and called for increased police visibility and security throughout the commercial district.
