Riley Ketwaroo scored twice as Three Miles Secondary defeated Bartica Secondary 4-0 to secure a group-stage berth in the inaugural ExxonMobil Guyana Under-18 Schools Football competition, which kicked off on Friday afternoon at the Bartica Community Centre Ground.
Organised by the Vurlon Mills Football Academy (VMFA), the competition opened with Ketwaroo giving Three Miles the lead in the 12th minute. His goal separated the teams at halftime, with Three Miles holding a 1-0 advantage.
Ketwaroo completed his brace in the 68th minute before Eric Stephens added a third in the 71st. Isaiah Daniels then scored in the 74th minute to complete the victory and confirm Three Miles’ progression.

The competition continues on Saturday, October 3, at the same venue.
VMFA will unveil fixtures for the other participating regions in the coming week, ahead of the wider nationwide programme of matches beginning on October 9.
The landmark tournament brings together 118 teams (68 male and 50 female) from eight of Guyana’s 10 administrative regions, making it one of the country’s largest grassroots school football initiatives in recent years.
