Sunrise Airways launches direct Barbados-Antigua flight

Sun rises on new Barbados-Antigua route as carrier makes maiden flight

The Haitian carrier Sunrise Airways recently celebrated the launch of a new direct flight path connecting Antigua and Barbuda with Barbados.

This bi-weekly service is part of a broader “One Caribbean” strategy aimed at improving regional transportation, fostering economic growth, and simplifying travel for families and businesses.

Aviation and tourism leaders gathered at Grantley Adams International Airport to welcome the inaugural flight, noting that the airline now reaches 20 destinations across the Caribbean and North America.

Beyond the primary route, the expansion offers travelers in Barbados better access to a network of Eastern Caribbean islands and potential future links to the United States.

Officials emphasize that this enhanced connectivity is crucial for supporting the tourism industry, which remains a vital economic pillar for the region.
