Immigration Department staff say they are both embarrassed and concerned by a report that one of their colleagues breached security and seriously traumatized a visitor to Antigua and Barbuda.
According to a letter shared with REAL News and confirmed by Immigration insiders, a woman complained that her December 2025 vacation here was marred by unwanted attention from the male Immigration officer who processed her.
The visitor alleges that the officer retrieved her phone number from the Immigration system and began messaging her at midnight.
This communication, she claims, left her confused, surprised, shocked and afraid, given that she had never shared her personal information with the employee.
The affronted visitor reportedly lodged a complaint about this “very serious breach of privacy and security” at the Airport’s Information Desk, and believes the officer – whom she considers a pervert –should be fired for his alleged invasive actions.
In addition, she claims she has reported this traumatic experience to her associates and warned them not to visit Antigua and Barbuda.
Immigration sources claim this officer is known to prey upon female visitors he finds attractive, engaging them in personal conversation and even leaving his station to “walk them to Customs.”
Despite these breaches of protocol and professional conduct, the sources allege, the authorities have done nothing to punish or stop this behaviour since the man reportedly was sent to the Department by a Cabinet minister.
