Health Authorities Seek Relatives of Two Unclaimed Bodies at Barnes Funeral Home

The Office of the Chief Health Inspector is appealing to the public for assistance in locating the relatives of two deceased men whose bodies remain unclaimed.

According to the Health Inspectorate, the remains of Mr. La Shaune Tunsha Charles, who died on October 19, 2025, and Mr. Augustin White, who passed away on January 2, 2026, are currently being kept in storage at Barnes Funeral Home.

Health officials say repeated efforts to identify and contact next of kin have so far been unsuccessful, prompting the public notice.

Family members or relatives are being urged to contact Ms. Jessica Barnes, Managing Director of Barnes Funeral Home, located at Irwin Barnes Close, American Road, by calling 462-1037, to make arrangements for a private burial.

The Office of the Chief Health Inspector has warned that if no contact is made within fourteen (14) days of the publication of the notice, the Government will proceed with the burial of the deceased at a public cemetery, without further notice.

Authorities further advised that once interment has taken place, no legal action can be pursued in relation to burial arrangements.

The Health Inspectorate is requesting the cooperation of anyone who may have information that could help locate the families of the deceased, stressing the importance of resolving the matter with dignity and respect.
