Two more employees of the Saint Lucia Air and Seaports Authority (SLASPA) were arrested on November 19 during a coordinated multi-agency operation targeting suspected criminal activity at Port Castries.
This development adds to a series of cases brought in the past month, including charges against three SLASPA employees in a $705 000 dollar drug bust and a Port police officer in a $1.3 million dollar seizure.

The operation is part of an ongoing probe into an organised network believed to be moving narcotics and firearms through the port by avoiding Customs checks and bypassing proper declaration procedures.
Investigators focused on key suspects within the Customs and Excise Department and SLASPA. The sweep led to the arrest of the two SLASPA staff members.
Authorities expect charges to be filed within the next 72 hours.
