Antiguan and Leeward Islands all-rounder, Rahkeem ‘Jimbo’ Cornwall, will wear the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons colours during this year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Cornwall, who represented the Barbados Royals in last year’s edition of the tournament, confirmed the move while speaking on the Good Morning Jojo sports show.
“Things were finalized a couple of months ago when my agent called me and told me that the Falcons want me to trade. I didn’t even think about it, I just said yeah, I want to come home. Playing with Barbados, they make you feel you’re welcomed there and in St Lucia it was the same thing. I played with the Antigua Hawksbills once and I got an opportunity to comeback home and represent the Falcons and I think it is the right time to do so, to come back home and help out the franchise,” he said.

Cornwall, who has played 67 CPL matches, has scored a total 1164 runs in 61 innings with a highest of 102, plays for the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the CWI professional competition. The Liberta Blackhawks player finished with best bowling figures of five for 16 against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the 2024 edition.
The burly hard-hitting right-hander is hoping to bring his particular set of skills to the Falcons.
Playing with Barbados and St Lucia I definitely had a role so I just want to see what role the coach has for me and if it’s similar then I know what I need to do and try to do it to the best of my ability. I think I will bring experience in terms of T20 cricket and opening the batting to try and give the team a good start and have guys in the middle who can back it up,” he said.
In a recent press release, the CPL announced that the Barbados Royals have secured the services of Sherfane Rutherford for the 2025 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL), in a move that will see Jason Holder joining the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.
The 2025 Republic Bank CPL will run from August 14 to September 21, with matches scheduled across six Caribbean nations. The six nations are Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad & Tobago.
