It’s definitely interesting to see how Mickela Panday and The Patriotic Front (PF) are positioning themselves. The fact that she is personally going into communities like Sea Lots and engaging directly with people is a strategic move. @top fans
It contrasts sharply with the more traditional, distant approach of some political figures. Mrs. Persad-Bissessar talks the big talk, but fails to walk it. Ms Panday is walking it, literally and being unashamedly bold with her candidate selections. I’m noting it!
Fielding 41 candidates is no small feat either, it signals real intent and organisational capability, especially when the UNC isn’t matching that number. The PF seems to be gaining traction, particularly among younger voters who may be disillusioned with the established parties and former UNC flushing over.
With the internal turmoil in the UNC, stagnation, resignations, and lack of clear direction, it does in fact create space for a fresh alternative. Whether the PF can convert this momentum into actual votes remains to be seen, but it’s clear they are making waves.
Can they take over the UNC? If they continue to build on this momentum, they could shake up the political landscape in ways people might not have expected.
