Blue Jays and Golden Grove earn First Division promotion

Cedar Grove Blue Jays and Golden Grove FC will compete in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) First Division for the 2025/26 domestic season.

Blue Jays, after 13 wins, two losses and a draw, finished atop the 17-team standings with 40 points while Golden Grove also won 13 of their 16 encounters but lost three, finishing on 39 points. The two teams automatically move to the First Division.

In their 16 showings, Blue Jays scored 58 times while allowing 12 goals for a goal difference of 46 while Golden Grove netted 76 times and allowed 15 for a difference of 61.

Former Premier Division champions, English Harbour FC, finished a close third on 38 points with 12 wins, two losses and two draws. They will enter the three-team round-robin playoffs with the teams finishing 11th and 12th in the 14-team First Division. Lion Hill FC with 11 points and Urlings FC with nine points, currently occupy those two positions.

Seaview Farm FC, who had a strong start to the Second Division competition, finished fourth on the standings with 37 points and will have to wait another season to challenge for promotion. Belmont FC round off the top five with 34 points.

Guydadli FC (33 pts), Blackburn Palace FC (27 pts), Young Lions (25 pts), Bethesda FC (20 pts) and Earthquakes FC 20 pts), finished sixth through 10th on the standings.

Rounding off the standings are CPTSA Wings (19 pts), Real Blizzard (18 pts), West Ham FC (16 pts), Young Warriors (10 pts), Tamo FC (8 pts), Glanvilles FC (5 pts) and Herberts FC (4 pts).
