CJIA issues scam alert over unauthorized immigration form fees

Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) has issued a public advisory warning travelers about a fraudulent website charging unsuspecting passengers for completing the online Immigration form.

The airport’s management said they were made aware of an unauthorized website that is charging fees for a service that is completely free.

The Immigration form required for entry or exit at the airport is available at no cost to passengers.

A CJIA statement emphasized that the official Immigration form can only be accessed via the legitimate government website at ed.gpf.gov.gy.

In addition, the public is encouraged to use the QR codes placed throughout the airport terminal for easy access to the form.

“We strongly advise the public that this is scam,” the statement read.

Passengers are urged to remain vigilant and ensure they are using only the official government website for Immigration services. The airport management reassured of its commitment to ensure a safe and seamless experience for all travelers and warned that such fraudulent activities will not be tolerated.

For further information, travelers can visit the official website or consult the airport’s customer service representatives.
