Edwin Ireland Jailed for Forgery and Fraud at Cost Pro Supermarket

Former Cost Pro Supermarket worker Edwin Ireland has been sentenced to one year and ten months in prison after being found guilty of a fraud scheme involving forged Customs documents.

Between 2019 and 2020, Ireland exploited gaps in the supermarket’s payment procedures, falsifying official receipts and signatures to divert cash intended for Customs duties. The scheme went undetected for an extended period due to procedural failures, including his frequent unsupervised container inspections.

A judge-alone trial led to his conviction on 25 counts of forgery and uttering by a servant on December 6, 2024. Justice Ann Marie Smith handed down the sentence.
