ASA Banton Responds: ‘When the service good, you tip the waiter’

Dominican Bouyon artiste ASA Banton has responded to Prime Minister Gaston Browne’s remarks about Antiguans tipping him $100 while criticizing an increase in license fees.

Taking to social media, Asa Banton acknowledged the headline attention he received, stating, “And just like that, I made headline news in Antigua.” He defended the generosity of Antiguans, emphasizing that people tip based on appreciation.

“When the service good, you tip the waiter,” Banton quipped, adding, “Antiguans are not poor; they just tip who they like and pay for what they want.”

The self-proclaimed “Bouyon Boss” also sent a message to the Prime Minister: “So Mr. PM, if you’re doing a good job, you will get your $100 tip for your roads soon.”
