grand welcome home motorcade is set for Sunday, March 9 to celebrate Grenada’s 2025 Ultimate Soca Champion, Wrenroy “Blaka Dan” Ogiste.
The event, scheduled to begin at 8:10 am, is being organized by the Ministry of Tourism, the Creative Economy, and Culture in collaboration with Spice Mas Corporation.
The celebration comes after Ogiste’s triumphant performance at the Ultimate Soca Championship final held in Trinidad on February 20, 2025, where he claimed the title.
Minister for Tourism, the Creative Economy, and Culture, Senator Adrian Thomas, confirmed that the ministry has received a letter of appreciation from the Soca star.
In his correspondence, Ogiste expressed his gratitude stating, “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to your ministry for its incredible support towards my performance in the Ultimate Soca Champion 2025… Your contribution played a significant role in my success. This victory is not only mine but also a testament to the encouragement and resources provided by your ministry. Your belief in me helped me reach this milestone, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to represent our culture on such a prestigious stage.”
The newly crowned champion has also shared his vision for developing the art form in his community, emphasizing his commitment to nurturing young artistic talent with the continued support of the ministry.
