Daley qualifies for World Indoor while claiming 60 meters indoor title at Tyson Invitational

National sprinter Ajani Daley registered a time of 6.73 seconds to capture the 60 meters indoor title at the Tyson Invitational held over the weekend at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, USA.

Representing the Allen Community College (ACC), Daley had to make up ground after getting off to a slow start but built momentum quickly to nip ACC teammate Darwin Jimenez who clocked 6.74 seconds at the line. Dekell Minor of Fort Scott Community College was third in 6.78 seconds.

The results mean that Daley is now the Central United States or region six champion. The time also qualifies the Antiguan for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships slated for March 7-8 at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.
