NOBU Barbuda has gained recognition as one of the leading restaurants in the Caribbean, drawing high-end visitors and strengthening the country’s position in the luxury tourism market.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne said the restaurant has become a major attraction. “The most famous restaurant in the Caribbean is in Antigua and Barbuda. Ask anyone to name one with a better reputation than NOBU Barbuda,” he stated.
According to Browne, the restaurant has helped position Barbuda as a must-visit destination for affluent travelers. “Wealthy individuals fly to St. Barts and then book a flight to Barbuda just to have lunch at NOBU. It’s about prestige,” he said.
The government is working to expand its luxury tourism sector, with efforts focused on increasing visitor spending and investment. “The goal is to attract the world’s most discerning travelers while ensuring local businesses benefit from these opportunities,” Browne added.
Luxury tourism remains a key part of the country’s economic growth strategy, with new developments aimed at enhancing Antigua and Barbuda’s appeal to high-net-worth individuals.
