Under the partnership, Global Ports Holding has committed to investing in port enhancements, including upgraded berths and passenger amenities.

The government expects these developments to attract more cruise lines and encourage longer port stays.

Tourism officials have pointed to the increasing demand for Caribbean cruise destinations and believe that Antigua and Barbuda’s improved facilities will position the country as a key stop on regional itineraries.

They also see potential for growth in visitor spending, benefiting local businesses, taxi operators, and tour providers.

The government has yet to specify a timeline for reaching the two-million-visitor milestone, but officials remain confident that the investments will yield long-term benefits for the economy.
