Prime Minister Gaston Browne has called for immediate action to fix malfunctioning traffic lights in key areas following reports of multiple accidents.
Speaking on Pointe FM, Browne acknowledged concerns raised by residents about traffic signals, particularly at the junction near Robinson’s Gas Station and outside Golden Grove Primary School.
Reports suggest that non-functional lights have led to near-collisions and growing safety risks for pedestrians and motorists.
The prime minister stated that he would be following up with the relevant authorities to ensure the issue is addressed as soon as possible. He urged the Director of Public Works to assess the situation and expedite repairs.
Drivers and residents have long voiced frustrations over unreliable traffic signals, citing the dangers posed by their inconsistent operation. Browne assured that the government remains committed to improving road safety and maintaining critical infrastructure.
