Their Excellencies Sir Rodney and Sandra Lady Williams bestowed medals upon two siblings who have exhibited exceptional character and dedication within their respective service organisations, a release from the Halo Foundation said.
The Guiding Light Award is presented annually to an outstanding guide and scout (at any level) who demonstrate excellence in activity, innovation, and generosity towards their community and peers.
This year’s honorees — Mr Marc Crawford and Ms Maya-Ann Crawford — were recognised for their selfless service and significant contributions to their organisations’ missions.
The medals, manufactured in the United Kingdom by Worcestershire Medal Services by appointment of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, symbolise the highest standards of dedication and service.
The selection process, conducted confidentially by the leadership of both organisations, coincidentally resulted in the selection of the brother and sister duo. During the ceremony, the awardees were encouraged to continue along their commendable path, striving to become exemplary citizens. Their parents were also congratulated for raising two outstanding young people who embody the principle of “service before self”.
President of The Halo Foundation Her Excellency Lady Williams announced that in 2026, the Guiding Light Award will be expanded to include all youth uniformed organisations under the umbrella of the Halo Foundation.
