The Fisheries Division is urgently asking for help in finding an Airman Silent Diesel Generator (SDG45 series) stolen from the Point Wharf Fisheries Complex between September 20th and 22nd, 2024. This generator is crucial for operating the pulley system that hauls and launches large fishing vessels.
The generator was taken from the slipway area, and due to its size and weight, it likely required significant manpower or a heavy-duty vehicle to remove it. The shed housing the generator was specifically designed to protect the equipment, indicating a well-coordinated effort in the theft.
Chief Fisheries Officer Ian Horsford has shared a photo of a similar but larger generator (SDG60 series) to aid in identification.
