At the launch of Richie Richardson: The Man and the Legacy, authored by Professor Densil Williams, Governor General Sir Rodney Williams received a copy of the biography at Casa Palmadita in Fitches Creek. The event celebrated the extraordinary life and cricket career of Sir Richie Richardson, former captain of the West Indies.
During his address, Sir Rodney highlighted Sir Richie’s significant contributions to cricket and commended Professor Williams for his exceptional work in documenting Sir Richie’s legacy. The biography offers a comprehensive look at Sir Richie’s leadership and influence both on and off the pitch.
The event was also attended by Honourable Daryll Matthew, Minister of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries, among other notable guests. It was a heartfelt tribute to two remarkable Caribbean figures: Sir Richie, whose career inspired many, and Professor Williams, who ensures that his legacy endures for future generations.
