𝑻𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑷𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒔 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒕𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝑪𝒚𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆
Lorian Toney, 34, an ambulance driver of Tabatinga, Central Rupununi, who was arrested on September 25, 2025, has been charged in connection with an offence under the Cybercrime Act 2018.
The allegation is that Toney used a computer system to humiliate, harass and cause substantial emotional distress in contravention of Section 19(2)(a) of the Cybercrime Act 2018, contrary to Section 19(5)(a) of the said Act, committed on Maxine Hendricks.
On Tuesday December 2, 2025, at 10:25hrs, Toney appeared at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Omadatt Chandan where she pleaded Guilty and was fined $1,000,000 GYD along with a sentence of one year imprisonment.
